Episode 60:

Capitalizing on nearly two decades in the health and fitness industry, Edward “EK” Navan is REGYMEN’s co-founder and the heart of the company’s progressive, engaging platform. His extensive experience as a club owner and operator, personal trainer, sales representative, and consultant have afforded him a deep bank of knowledge related to studio design, lease negotiations, and personal recruitment and training. In the series of ups and downs that come with growing an idea into a true concept, EK has become an advocate of fostering company culture, especially one that places great value on employees, members, and feedback. He is fortunate to have learned that attention to the smallest of details allows for delivering an unparalleled customer experience. In addition to broad real-world experience, he earned his degree in exercise physiology and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and anything that involves food.

What the podcast will teach you:

  • Why EK believes that you have to hire the right people and build your team first, then trust your team to build your vision for your business
  • Why EK’s best advice to business owners is to listen to others and be prepared to pivot to improve your business
  • Why, each time EK hits a goal, he sets a new goal for himself and his business, and why it is important to not rest on your laurels
  • Why EK finds it helpful to take a step back and look outside the fitness industry to other, unrelated industries to get perspective
  • What steps EK has taken to get clear on his responsibilities as a leader, and why evolving the team’s vision is crucial
  • How your company’s culture is like an internal version of your brand, and why you shouldn’t be focused solely on what your competitors are doing
